Oh, and thanks for reminding me about all my gray hair (all the time) I think it's time to look into getting it colored...UGH...

Dear Honey: Thanks for reminding me to communicate - it makes everything better. Love you...

Dear Anthony (my son): I'm so happy with the classes we picked for next year...

Dear Post Office Workers: Thank you for being so friendly and taking all my packages with a smile. I will never go to another post office.

Dear Very Jane: Thanks for accepting my contract. I can't wait to be featured on your website next month.

I must say I they were just ok. I think they need to be just a little sweeter. In my opinion if you add a little more sugar and a little more cinnamon these would be lots better.

40 days

My sister and I always give up something for lent. Although we are not Catholic, it always made us feel great to sacrifice one of our many luxuries in life from Ash Wednesday all the way until Easter. About two years ago we decided to continue to sacrifice "something" for the rest of the year, we call it 40 DAYS. We have been doing this off and on with no really commitment - BUT this year I've started and will continue to set a new goal every 40 days for the rest of the year! YES the rest of the year. DO YOU HEAR ME!!!!

I guess this has turned into something of a goal setting or a way to cut unhealthy habits.

Sooooo I'm so sad to say that I've given up going to STARBUCKS for 40 days...yes, I know I'm crazy!!! The goal is to brew coffee at home everyday with my new fancy coffee maker and to save a little money.

Let me tell you it's so easy to run to Starbucks when I'm running late for work and it's really great to have someone remember your order when you walk in the door and not waste too much time in line. Oh how I miss this...so I started January 15th and everything was going pretty well until I saw the new Valentine's Day Cups ***DARNNNN YOU STARBUCKS!!!!***

I want the new cup and I want to play with the new app on my iPhone. {{sad face insert here}} LOL!
I will keep you all posted on my progress - MUST. STAY. STRONG!!

I must say, I saw these planners about a month ago on another blog and this person was so excited about this planner - then I went to the website and decided not to order because of the price. But then a friend at work brought in her planner and my eyes lit up. I WAS SOLD. So I placed my order and added a comment in the special instructions...to my surprise I got an email from this company letting me know that they received my message and my order was complete just as I requested - WHAT?!?!?!!!!!!! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE I EVEN GET THE PRODUCT. L.O.V.E!

So I got it and I LOVE my new planner...I took pictures as I opened the box and wanted to share my excitement with you...I was working from home the day the box arrived and my FedEx guy didn't even ring my door bell. You know when I think about it I don't think I've ever met my FedEx guy - but my UPS guy, yep I've meet him and I have to admit I get a little excited every time he comes...ok, ok, ok back on topic...

When the box arrives it looks like this:

eeeeekkkk...what a great package. It looks like a present! I didn't want to tear the box, for some reason I find my self wanting to keep it, I know weird...
So when you open the box you find this...

Enclosed is a business card (of course). A welcome letter with a coupon that NEVER expires for you next purchase and cute envelope with a sticker with my name on it...so super cute but all I could think is - what's in the envelope...another something cute to open...it was like another present...

To my surprise cute little labels!!! Such a cute treat...

AND THEY ARE PERSONALIZED WITH MY NAME....whatttt???? I'm so in LOVE and I have not even seen my new planner...and of course it's wrapped and I get yet another present from erin condren and her sweet company.

I open it and ta-daaaaaaaaa, yeah, yay, whooohooooo, my planner just like I ordered! On the inside more stickers you can add to birthday gifts or bags - yeah, because it's me to forget the card for the gifts we purchase...the stickers are in this cute pouch, YES that comes inside the planner - for pens, business cards, stamps, ect...

This last picture shows my planner close up. It says ME! And that is what I really love about it. Thank you erin condren. I will come back year after year...

We are looking forward to a great weekend of fun at the Harvest of Homes Tour! If you plan on attending, here’s what you need to know:

Start out at the Welcome Center, which opens at 9:30 on Saturday and 11:30 on Sunday. The address is 4304 Quinlan Park Road. The map and list of homes can be picked up there all weekend. Models are spread out throughout the community, so do not skip this step!

The shopping event will happen all weekend at the model homes. Bring a friend and start that holiday shopping early! The models open at 10 on Saturday and Noon on Sunday.

Photos in the pumpkin patch are at the Welcome Center from Noon to 4pm both days. There is also another pumpkin patch photo event at the John Simpson Community Center on Sunday. These are separate events, but both will benefit charities. Why not try both?!

The SUP ATX folks will be doing paddle board rentals. They will rent you the paddle board, put it on your car, and you can take it to either Lake Austin or Lake Travis – you choose. Try it. It’s easier than it looks!

Savoir Beds will be set up at the Drees model in Hawks Canyon. This is really something you have to try for yourself to understand. It brings sleeping to a whole new level!!!

The Roger Beasley Auto Group will have cars in several locations. Ask at the Welcome Center if you would like to know more about where they will be located

The clip board measures 5 3/8 x 3 7/8. Includes 50 sheets of cardstock that measures 3 x 4 1/2 (refills can also be purchased in my shop). This is all topped off with a decortive binder clip and ribbon. Each bookmark is made with decortive paper. Measures appx 4 inches long...the wooden disk measures 1 1/2 inches round. The chunky magnet measures 1.5 X 1.5 inches square, includes extra strong Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets.

Happy Admin's Day Card

I just created this card really, really quick...it was so easy. The saying was printed, I then added colorful ribbon and rhinestones to match the ribbon.

I've NEVER created an admin's day card - and I have worked as an Executive Assistant for many years...so I really can't explain that one...but today is the day. I want to say Happy Admin's Day to all of the assistants out there that have super awesome bosses (like me), and those who must deal with crazy people in the office on a daily basis. Those who have added nurse, furniture mover, copier repair person, errand runner, message taker, lost and found person, person who must find the person who left their car on running all day in the parking lot, facilities coordinator and peace maker to your resume. LOL!

What a great day here in Austin...the weather is great - high 60's, a little windy but anything is much better than rain. I really couldn't wear flip flops today but I will tomorrow!!! YEAH!

Today is a perfect day to make homeade cupcakes. I didn't have time to bake but I did the next best thing - I made a card! It turned out really yummy!

I love the Cutting Cafe's cupcake shaped card set...
I also used Stampin' Up's Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip cardstocks, the patterned paper is Everyday from American Crafts. I also used really cute pink grosgrain ribbon, a clear square button, glitter, and my xyron machine. Enjoy this cupcake...without the calories!!!

Another great card...HAPPY BIRTHDAY...Wow, I'm going through my cards and man I use some of the same colors all the time!!! I need to go a little outside my comfort zone and start using other colors - I ordered new scrapbook papers today, I should get it in a couple of days. So my goal is to start showing you more colors...

Speaking of colors - my most favorite colors in the world are:

1. Green - most shades of green

2. Brown - I love to create with brown

3. Pink...it's trendy, I guess brown is too...

4. Black, I wear black almost every single day...yep it's sad, but it's easy!

5. Red, who doesn't love a huge red handbag...this was my favorite color though out my elementary days...and if you put something in front of me to purchase, I will go to red always...

I wanted to share something that happened to me the other day...I'm working on a super great project (details at a later date) and I needed to shop around a little. I went to Half Price Books and was standing in line when this sweet lady came up to me and offered me her 20% off coupon. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever!

You know I usually always let the person behind me at the store go ahead of me if they only have a couple of things, I also give coupons to others if I'm in a store and have decided not to purchase anything. Someone did purchase a drink for me in the drive-thur at Starbucks and man that really made my day! And another time a customer gave me a huge tip at a craft show because she saw me give a little girl something for free because the little girl didn't have enough money to purchase something for her mom...I guess what goes around comes around!

Take a look at the picture...this isn't Hey Cupcake down on South Congress in Austin. Funny looks the same...here's the story from Austin American Statemen...

Austin's Hey Cupcake has filed a federal lawsuit that accuses a trailer cupcake business in Indiana of copying the appearance of its retail trailers.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Austin, said that the Cupcake Camper in Noblesville, Ind., operates out of an Airstream trailer with a large, three-dimensional cupcake with pink frosting on the roof — similar to trailers used by Hey Cupcake.

Hey Cupcake owner Wes Hurt's lawyer Robert Kleinman said that it just seems "beyond coincidence" that the look and feel of the Indiana trailer business, which opened last year, is so similar to Hey Cupcake, which has been operating in Austin since 2007. He said that Hurt hopes to expand his company nationally and internationally and that customers may mistakenly think that the Cupcake Camper is somehow related to Hey Cupcake.

I've decided I'm donating a percentage of my sales (on selected products) to CANCER RESEARCH this craft show season!!! Yes, this is exciting!!! Take a look at this 'hope' card - part of the sales will go to research.

I'm not sure if most of you know that cancer research holds a special place in my heart - I will make the donation in my mother-in-law's name, we lost her over three years ago and she is truly, truly missed every day.
